January 26, 2016 is Australia Day
On this day back in 1788 the First Fleet of British Ships arrived at Port Jackson, New South Wales. This is also known as First Landing or Foundation Day. At his time the Flag of Great Britain was raised at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip.
