2013 Declared Not a Vintage Year For Port

May 6,2015

Blame the rain.

There was a dry summer but when it came time to harvest there was rain during the September harvest, therefore no vintage Port this year.

The major Port Houses will not be declaring that 2013 is a vintage year. So single Quinta vintage wines will be produced with unworthy vintage port grapes.

A winning result for the consumers.

Red and White Wine Protects Against Heart Disease

March 20,2015

As reported by The Telegraph newspaper, “a study by the Czech scientist found both red and white wines have a protective effect against heart disease among those who take regular exercise.”keep_calm_and_drink_wine_839

There was not much detail about what the regular exercise was to be. But I think this is what they meant.

  • Going down the stairs to the wine cellar
  • Moving the wine boxes and cases of wine around
  • Walking back up the stairs with the extra weight of the bottles you are carrying
  • Reaching up and taking the wine glass from the cabinet
  • Lifting the bottle and filling your wine glass
  • Raising the glass to you mouth many times
  • Bringing the empty wine bottles to be recycled

That is my kind of regular exercise.
